Southern Planning 3rd Annual Community Trunk or Treat
Southern WV Community & Technical College is planning another substantial indoor trunk or treat for the local community this Halloween season.
The event will occur on Thursday, Oct. 26th, on its Logan and Williamson campuses from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The concept is simple. It’s a one-stop trick-or-treating bonanza held in a safe, controlled environment. Local businesses and community groups join Southern employees and departments in decorating tables and passing out candy.
Southern’s President, Dr. Pamela L. Alderman, says she is excited that the local college can connect with the community during events like these. “Community is our middle name. We are always looking for avenues to benefit our region. Trunk or treat is a perfect opportunity to connect with a fun, positive event.”
Prizes and giveaways are also part of the event. Southern will pass out a limited number of event T-shirts, flashing foam sticks, pumpkin backpacks, and more. Director of Communications Bill France shared his enthusiasm for the event. “I have always loved Halloween. Our trunk or treat allows kids another opportunity to wear their costumes and get free goodies.”
