Southern’s Surgical Technology Program Hits Milestone

Southern WV Community & Technical College Surgical Technology students have achieved an outstanding milestone with a remarkable 100% board passage rate for the fifth consecutive year.

This achievement reflects their dedication and hard work and speaks volumes about the quality of education and support they receive at Southern.

With this impressive accomplishment, Southern students have demonstrated their readiness to excel in their chosen field, setting a high standard for success and inspiring future generations of learners.

“As the Program Director, witnessing our students achieve a 100% board passage rate on their national certification exam is incredibly gratifying,” Misha Herndon, Assistant Professor and Director of the Surgical Technology Program, said. “It speaks volumes about the quality of education they receive. It is a testament to the excellence that defines our institution and the bright future that awaits our graduates. I look forward to their success stories and to following their careers as certified surgical technologists in the workforce.”
