Representatives from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College and West Virginia State University recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding agreement to participate in a two plus two program beginning in the spring of 2006. This program will provide students who achieve an Associate in Applied Science degree in specified Business and Public Administration programs from Southern a process to transition into the Bachelor of Science degree program in Business Administration at West Virginia State University located at Institute, WV. Those specific programs include AAS degrees in Business Accounting and Business Administration with options of General Business, Small Business Management and Marketing. Participating in the agreement signing were l-r, John W. Preece, Certified Public Accountant; Patricia Shafer, Interim Dean, West Virginia State University College of Business Administration and Social Sciences; Patricia Dickinson, WVSU Director of Public Relations; Dr. Hazo W. Carter, Jr., President, West Virginia State University; Joanne Jaeger Tomblin, President, Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College; Katie Smith-Cox, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Southern; Dr. Gail Hall, Chair, Division of Business and Public Administration at Southern; Dr. Eleanor Maliche, Professor of Marketing at WVSU; and Angela Phillips, a graduate of Southern and a current accounting student at WVSU.
