Interactive Classrooms

Southern is a leader in the use of technology.  An electronic interactive classroom system links the college's four campuses, the Yeager Technical Center in Lincoln County, and Big Creek High School by two-way audio and video exchange.  With a service district geographically spread apart, the interactive system enables students and the community to take advantage of educational programs from any locations.

Southern's interactive classroom system is also connected to Marshall University, thus, students at Southern have the opportunity to take classes toward a four-year degree from Marshall, without leaving Southern's campuses.  The college is currently looking to expand the system to additional sites within the district, as well as develop similar arrangements with other colleges and universities in the state.

Improvements and expansion of this system will further Southern's efforts to meet the needs of our students, employees, and community.
