This position is full-time "term" faculty with excellent fringe benefits.  Southern West Virginia Community and Technial College seeks innovative instructors committed to community college students and their success.  The successful candidate will utilize various technologies in the classroom and for distance delivery of instruction; have all other duties of a full-time instructor such as committee assignments, program reviews, and advising students; have ability to work efectively with supervisors, colleagues, staff and students as part of an education team; and write and update curricula including course outlines and syllabi as required by the institution or industry trends. Function:  One of Southern's highest priorities is meeting the current and future educational needs of the communities it serves.  We are strategically positioned to set and surpass new standards of excellence in our primary teaching and learning mission. We welcome qualified faculty who integrate learning outcome assessment techniques in their instructional planning, curriculum design, and teaching activities; Apply technology to the teaching and learning process, and deliver instruction in a variety of formats; Understand and apply organization theory, and thrive in cross functional roles; Collaborate in flexible, imaginative problem solving, and make data-driven decisions as well as integrate interdisciplinary and global perspectives into their methodology.  Requirements: Master's Degree in a science field.  We prefer candidates who can teach bilogical sciences, physical sciences, chemistry, and physics.  Therefore, a Master's degree in one science field with significant coursework in one or more of the others is acceptable.  We will also consider a candidate who is qualified in one or more of the above fields.  Community college experience is preferred, but not required.  Candidate must be willing to develop and teach courses online.  Computer skills using office production software is preferred.  Knowledge of and experience with a variety of instructional strategies is required.  This position will be housed at our Boone Campus, but teaching at other campuses might be required to fill teaching load or serve the needs of our students.  Position will remain open until filled.
