Student Success Center Coordinator

Responsibilities:  Provide leadership, management, planning, scheduling and facilitation of Student Success Center programming, evaluation, and instructiional/learner support.  Support staff needs; provide conflict resolution and provide resources for student success.  Assist in creating and maintaining a Policy and Procedures Manual for the Student Success Center and Testing Center.  Coordinate Early Intervention and Academic Intervention services.  Facilitate workshops, study groups and individual sessions in on-site and virtual delivery methods in such topics as study skills, time management, test taking, and college adjustment.  Supervise and coordinate hiring, orientation, training, and evaluating professional tutors, peer tutors, and work-study students, tracking utilization and effectiveness of services offered.  Coordinate Early Intervention and Academic Intervention with Student Services Team and provide student follow-up.  Prepare, organize, and administer all student leadership activities under the umbrella of the National Society of Leadership and Success.  Manage the student gaming and cafeteria services area.  Manage a small caseload of students.  Work with faculty to identify and refer high risk students to Success Centers.  Communicate regularly and effectively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators regarding student success.  Facilitate student discussions about the importance of planning internships and cooperative educational experiences.  Develop and maintain close working relationships with external community agencies and other student support referral sites.  Market porgrams and services and monitor student participation and use.  Prepare regular data and assessment reports as necessary to track utilization and impact of services.  analyze trends, and perform related duties as assigned or as directed.  Requirements:  Masters Degree in Education, Guidance and Counseling, or related field required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.  Must have a minimum of five years experience working as a counselor, tutor, and/or advisor in a higher education setting.  Personnel management and organization is strongly preferred.  A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse Student Success, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, and knowledge of college policies and procedures.  Strong people skills are required along with advising and counseling skills.  Must possess superior written and oral communication skills.  Ability to work independently and to motivate others.  Must be proficiency in Mircrosoft Office applications.  Research and analysis, organizational skills, and attention to detail.  Banner experience preferred.  For full consideration, applications must be submitted by 4:30 pm June 28, 2018.
