Financial Aid

Note:
Students receiving any time of federal or state aid are required to sign a deferment form before August 5th, 2013 in order to hold their classes.

Southern participates in a wide variety of scholarships, grants, loans and employment opportunities.  Most of our students who apply for Financial Assistance, receive some type of aid.

FAFSA Website
You can apply for all types of financial assistance by completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). FAFSA application forms are no longer offered in paper format.  All applications must be electronically submitted.

IRS Tax Return Transcript
In order to verify income and receive FAFSA award you must submit the following documents.  To obtain an IRS tax return transcript, go to www.IRS.gov and click on the “Order a Return or Account Transcript” link, or call 1.800.908.9946.  Make sure to request the “IRS Tax Return Transcript.”  You or/and your parent will need his or her Social Security number, date of birth, and the address on file with the IRS.  It takes up to two weeks for IRS income information to be available for electronic IRS tax filers, and up to eight weeks for paper IRS tax return filers.  If you have any further feel free to contact the financial aid office.
